O-RINGS
Because of their simple, efficient and low-cost seal, O-Rings are components that play a fundamental role in the proper functioning anywhere of any type of seal needed.
The functionality and duration of an O-Ring depend on the method and type of mounting. Raw edges, rough edges and uneven metal surfaces should be avoided. Special care should be taken when mounting if there are spinning parts, grooves or other orifices over which the O-Ring is mounted. During mounting, the O-Ring should be extended as little as possible and this should be carried out using the appropriate instruments.
The O-Ring should be clean, in good condition and lightly lubricated with compatible lubricant, the mountings should be clean and oiled, and the rings should be protected from other components during mounting.
In the case of automatic mounting, special combinations of flatness and concentricity are recommended ... which should be specified.
